Winnipeg wildlife trapping and removal
Mice/Rats
Wildlife Control Services will do a thorough inspection of your home or business to identify where the rodents are entering the building.
We generally will set up snap trap stations in the optimum areas for best results. Live traps can also be used.
Note: There are times the rats need to be pre-baited prior to arming the snap traps.
This method is a little more time consuming than the poison methods, but extremely effective and you will NOT have rodents dying in your walls, attic, or other areas in your home or business.
Once the rodent problem is under control, Wildlife Control Services will present you with a plan to properly repair the necessary areas, and what will need to be done to sustain the rodent free environment.
Monthly rodent control programs are available.
Pocket Gopher (mole)
Wildlife Control Services will come to your property and assess the area that the pocket gophers have intruded.
We generally can quickly identify which dirt mound is the most recent, and present a plan of attack to rid you of your pocket gopher problem.
Squirrel
Wildlife Control Services will do a thorough inspection of your home or business to identify where the squirrels are entering the building.
Home and business owners have a couple of options as to how they would like to deal with their squirrel issue.
Once Wildlife Control Services have assessed the area, the customer can choose trapping the squirrels using either lethal or non lethal traps to capture the squirrels (a waiver will need to be signed to authorize WCS to use lethal traps), or Wildlife Control Services can install one way doors to allow the squirrel to leave the building and not return.
At that point WCS will present a plan to exclude the squirrels from the building and also what will need to be done to sustain the squirrel free building.
Skunk
Wildlife Control Services will do a thorough inspection of the property to identify where the skunk is staying during the day time.
When it comes to skunks, the most effective way to remove a skunk without it spraying is with proper skunk specific live traps.
With the trap(s) properly placed in the right spots and with the proper bait used, WCS can generally take care of your skunk problem in a very short time while leaving your home or business smell free.
Once Wildlife Control Services has confirmed your property is skunk free, WCS will present you with a plan to sustain your skunk free property.
Woodchuck
Wildlife Control Services will do a thorough inspection of the property to locate where the woodchuck is most active.
Since woodchucks are not nocturnal, they are often seen during the day. The most effective way to remove woodchucks from your property is to live trap them using the proper location and bait.
Once WCS has confirmed the property is woodchuck free, Wildlife Control Services will present a plan to sustain the woodchuck free property.
Other species are more than happy to move into an old woodchucks den if not properly dealt with.
Raccoon
Wildlife Control Services will do a thorough inspection of your home or business to identify where the raccoons are entering the building.
Home and business owners have a couple of options as to how they would like to deal with their raccoon issue.
Once Wildlife Control Services have assessed the area, the customer can choose trapping the raccoons using either lethal or non lethal traps to capture the raccoons (a waiver will need to be signed to authorize WCS to use lethal traps), or Wildlife Control Services can install one way doors to allow the raccoon to leave the building and not return.
*NOTE: Wildlife Control Services uses a natural deterrent that effectively removes pregnant and birthing raccoon mothers (only)from nesting areas like attics. There is no need for a one way door or trap.
Raccoons that having been living in or born in your building are highly likely to return each year, so additional prevention strategies are required to drastically reduce the chance of a reoccurrence.
Wildlife Control Services will present a plan to best fit your situation to sustain the raccoon free building.
Beaver
Wildlife Control Services will do a thorough inspection of where the problem beaver is causing damage.
There are a couple of ways of removing problem beaver. Depending on where the problem is WCS will present the best way of removing the problem beaver.
Preferred methods include beaver specific live traps, restraining traps, or lethal traps.
In some situations a firearm may be required to remove the problem beaver.
Safety is the most important concern of Wildlife Control Services, so if WCS deems a method unsafe, WCS will refuse to preform the animal removal if a safer method can’t be performed.
Muskrat
Wildlife Control Services will do a thorough inspection of where the problem muskrat is causing damage. Live trapping and removal of the problem muskrat is the preferred method of removing the the muskrats.
Foxes
Wildlife Control Services will do a thorough inspection of your property to see where the foxes are entering.
When it comes to foxes, WCS prefers to use live traps first. Wildlife Control Services will set live traps in the proper places using fox specific bait to live trap and remove the fox safely.
In situations where a fox may be “trap wise” the use of Canadian certified soft catch foothold hold traps may be used to capture the fox safely and then transferred to a live cage trap for removal.
Wildlife Control Services will present you with a plan to reduce the chances of foxes returning in the future.
Pigeons and Sparrows
Wildlife Control Services will do a thorough inspection of your property or building to assess the problem.
Generally when trapping has been chosen for the method of dealing with the nuisance birds, WCS will determine a safe area to locate the traps where the target birds will feel comfortable.
When trapping pigeons or sparrows, it is a little time consuming and most small to medium sized jobs are complete in a couple of weeks. Once the bird problem is under control, WCS will present a plan to sustain the bird free property.
Coyotes and Wolves
Wildlife Control Services will do a thorough inspection of your property to determine where the predators are entering your property.
Dealing with problem coyotes and wolves can be extremely challenging and unfortunately live traps are not effective in trapping coyotes and wolves.
The most effective way of removing problem predators is by using Canadian certified foothold traps. This becomes very challenging because there may be homes close by with pets (dogs).
Wildlife Control Supplies does their very best to capture problem coyotes and wolves as quickly and safely as possible without harming any pets.
WCS may pull permits to euthanize problem predators via firearm if they are posing danger to people, pets, or livestock, but WCS assures that safety is the most important concern.
Snakes
Wildlife Control Services will inspect your property or home to find the snake problem.
If the snakes cannot be located, WCS will set out snake traps. Snakes are unable to be relocated if caught in traps.

When it comes to honey bees, WCS makes every effort to capture and relocate the honey bees to a new home.
Honey bees are extremely important to our environment.

Wildlife Control Services will present a plan to sustain the bee free building.
